Glycosylation enzyme targeting: A crucial domain
The length of the transmembrane (TM) domain retains a glycosyltransferase or a glycosidase in a specific region of the Golgi, whereas the composition of cytoplasmic (CT) domain can influence targeting of these enzymes to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
