Compounds to be added to the next upgrade of the Mammalian Glycan Array The Consortium for Functional Glycomics' printed glycan microarray allows for routine screening of glycan-binding protein (GBP) specificity. A primary objective of the CFG is to increase the number and diversity of the glycans on the array to increase the coverage of natural glycan sequences. To this end, a major effort is being directed to prepare new N-linked and O-linked glycan cores, and enzymatically building these up to obtain a diverse set of terminal sequences in the context of the different core structures. A listing of synthesized structures proposed by investigators as of today can be viewed by clicking here. The current CFG microarray (version 4.1) has 465 highly diverse glycan targets. After validation by test printing, this list of candidate compounds will be added to the next upgrade of the CFG mammalian glycan array.
